This month I painted for the first time in a while, drew characters for random oc generator challenges, and some more character design work!

Cat Painting

For the first time in a long while I made a physical painting. It was part of a painting class for a family friends birthday. I painted the cat I’m fostering right now, and got a cute video of her with it.

Honestly I had a lot of fun with it, it’s been a long time since I’ve painted. It was just a nice, simple, cute thing to work on.

Characters based on Random OC Generators

I drew a character based on a random oc generator by the artist Bubbs, and had a lot of fun with it! Here’s a Link to the Youtube Short, and you can probably find it on some of their other socials too.

I just kinda did whatever for the background but actually really liked how it turned out. I’ve noticed I have a tendency to do really dark backgrounds with characters so this time I made sure to try out a lighter colored background. I think my favorite parts of the design to work with were the hairstyle and the Frankenstein’s monster-style skin.

Doing this challenge reminded me of another one I never finished, so I went back and finished that drawing. This OC randomizer challenge was by LavenderTowne, here’s a link to the Youtube Short.

With this one I thought it was funny cause I kept getting angel/demon theming stuff and was like alright cool yeah I can work with this, and then got hit with bunnysuit for the outfit lmao.

I really like how the pose and colors came out. The head ended up being cluttered with the horns and bunny ears and hair, but that’s just how it turned out with the randomizer. If I could redu it I’d probably take off the bunny ears to keep it from being so cluttered, but I guess that would make it less obviously a bunny suit for the outfit.

Character Concept Artwork

Once again I’m stuck on a new character idea. I might eventually use them for a ttrpg campaign so I’m not sure how much I wanna say yet about backstory ideas, but I can at least share some of the concept work for the character!

Touch the Corpse

So I’ve been playing my character Rorik for the Draw Steel campaign I’m in, and we had a session where, long story short, Rorik was studying the body of a dead werewolf to find a cure for lycanthropy after he got bit. One of the other players sent the Touch the Corpse music video by Irving Force in chat and I thought it was funny. Later I was sketching Rorik and got carried away with the sketches until I ended up just making a whole color drawing out of it. I wanted to do some funky stuff with it and ended up having a lot of fun with it. It’s not my usual style, but it was nice to try something different and get out of my comfort zone. Also it was fun to show some of the Mad Scientist tendencies of Rorik the party hasn’t really gotten to see much of yet.

I ended up making two versions cause I couldn’t decide which I liked better.

Also heres a link to the video.
