July 2026 Art

This month was Artfight! Most of the artwork I did was for Artfight, but I also got a surprise character to work on for a possible text rp I may be joining.

Artfight Attacks

I was really looking forward to Artfight this year. Unfortunately, last year I burnt myself out working on my character references as prep for Artfight the whole month before, and only ended up getting one attack done in 2025. Thankfully I learned my lesson, and paced myself a lot more while working on references and adding new characters so I wouldn’t burn out before it even started.

It was a good sign that by day two I finished my second attack, officially one attack ahead of last year!

My first attack was of KnightHearts character Guinevere

Second attack was Missbelllsss character Emmy

Third attack was of the character Quill for Mad_Teddy

Fourth attack was for my friend Bluespryte of their character Ava

Fifth attack for my bud Roenais of their character North

The sixth attack I did for my friend Novadaweaver of their character Illaes. I’d had the idea for this attack for years now, but always been too afraid to start it because I knew it would be a lot of work. Our characters had been in the same d&d campaign, and I wanted to draw them hanging out having tea like they would during the campaign during the few times things were calm.

By the end of it I ended up clocking 28+ hours working on it, which is way longer than I’m used to.

Unfortunately right after I sent it I realized I’d messed up the perspective on it, specifically the banister along the wall. Afterwards I redlined over it to check and. yeah. yeh i messed up. It should be closer to something like this.

But I know it’s probably gonna take at least an hour to go back in, redu the lineart, redu the flat colors, fix all the shading and highlights and…. yeah I just don’t know if I have it in me haha. It’s unfortunate how much messing up the fundamentals early on can mess things up so much down the line. Now all I can see when I look at it is that wonky banister and it annoys me so much.

But I’m still trying to appreciate the 28+ hours of work I put into this and just say, “hey, its done, let it be”, you know? I like the lighting and shading I did. I drew all those goddamn books by hand. All the detail with the plants and patterns on the tea pots, and the PLANTS I had so much fun with the plants. I’m trying hard to just let go of the mistake and move on.

New Character for Potential RP

There’s a new apocalypse, survival horror roleplay game I may be joining called Sol Invectivus. I’m not sure if I’ll be joining, as applications are required and spots are limited, but I had a lot of fun making my character for it!

My character is Wren Silva, a travel nurse recently assigned to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. I made a Toyhouse Page with a lot more information about their backstory and personality

And here’s some of the art I’ve made so far!

I also ended up making a moodboard for them. The text in the middle is lyrics from a song by the Crane Wives called “Easier” that I thought was pretty fitting for them.

Some Doodles of Rorik

Just a silly bit for the end, I ended up sketching Rorik a bit for fun. Of all the current characters I’m focused on he’s the most expressive, so I wanna play around with that more.
