Art from September 2025

This month I spruced up some older drawings of characters while I figure out some changes to my art style, drew fanart of Knights of Guinevere, and baked some treats to use up my jar of lavender honey!

Sprucing up Character Drawings

Since I’ve been experimenting a bit more with my artstyle, I decided to go back to some drawings from a few months ago and make some changes. So the changes are the same, and the colors are pretty similar, but I added more detail to the outfit designs and kept flat colors rather than adding highlights and shading.

The first one I worked on was a drawing of my character Morrigan. I still like the first one I did on the left, but it was nice to see side-by-side the changes I made.

The next one I worked on was a drawing of my character Finnigan. This one was pretty similar to the first drawing I did, I just changed colors around a bit and added in some more detail.

Knights of Guinevere

After watching the pilot episode of Knights of Guinevere for the third time I sat down and spent the next 9 hours hyperfixated on drawing this.

My brain did the typical ups and downs of really liking it and then as soon as I started sharing it I saw a bunch of things I wanted to fix, but at this point I’m calling it done.

I was pretty happy in particular with the composition of it, and although it’s more simple and stylized I do like how the flames and smoke turned out. I think I did a pretty good job with the lighting overall too. If I could have a redu of it I think I would change the placement of his face, with the cut marks especially it makes his head look off center from his body. And I’d maybe want to add more detail to the rest of the environment, not too much that it takes away from him as the focus though.

Baking

I don’t usually share things besides my digital art but this time I think baking counted. So I’ve had a jar of lavender honey sitting around, and because I’m moving in the next few days I need to use the rest of it up. Turns out it was a bit more than I thought, (it was a pint of honey), ((I promise it isn’t even that big of a jar I don’t know how it’s a pint of honey but it says 17.6 oz so ahah yeah)).

So I asked my friend to help me to find a recipe we could use it for. The first recipe we saw that used a pint of honey would have made 200 fruit cake cookies so we uh. Decided to not go with that one.

Instead we ended up baking pear and brie cheese hand-pies with lavender honey. It didn’t use all of it but it used up a good amount! And I’m happy to say after using it in tea just about every morning and as a substitute for syrup for pancakes, I have finally used the rest of the jar.

This isn’t a very flattering photo haha, but they were super delicious and really that’s kinda all that matters to me. Maybe if I make more in the future I’ll try to make them look pretty.
