HallowHome Zine

I’m finally able to share the artwork I made for the second volume of Hallow Home, a Hollow Knight fanzine! You can access it as a free digital pdf to Download Here, and if you’d like more information this is the link to their Carrd Page. This fanzine is dedicated to the different locations and characters found throughout the game, with a generally more of a slice-of-life vibe to it!

I was a page artist and a spot illustrator for the written short story Ceniza Neva by Reveks! For the page artwork I did an illustration of Nosk’s lair. I was really happy with how it turned out, especially the colors for it. And for the spot illustration I was asked to draw a family visiting one of the gravesites, the one belonging to the character Millie Bug who sold cookies!

It was really really cool to be part of this zine, it’s got some really awesome art in it and I was so happy I got to join in!

Character Outfit Redesign

I have a character named Maeve from an old d&d one-shot game, and decided to work on a new illustration for her. First, though, I wanted to work on redesigning her outfit a bit. I did some simpler drawings to play around mostly with the colors, but also switched up some of the shapes as well.

After the explorations I went ahead and finished up an illustration of my character! I also made a Toyhouse Page for her if you want to know more about her backstory.

New Character: Locke

It really does feel like I’m coming up with a new character each month haha, but I’m sticking with it with a new character named Locke! I originally came up with the character while playing the videogame Scarlet Hollow. In my playthrough I picked the traits “Mystical” and “Street Smarts” for them, and played them as a very quiet and perceptive person. I had a ton of fun with that playthrough and decided to sketch them, and from there it kind of spiraled haha.

This was the character exploration sheet I made. I had a pretty clear vision for what they looked like. For the aesthetic I was thinking of some weird combo between a detective noir and Trigun.

I’m not quite sure what they would be like outside of the Scarlet Hollow game setting, but I like the idea of them using some sort of combination of magic and technology. While I’m not ready to post it yet I started making a separate Toyhouse page for them, and this is the description I came up for them so far:

Scarlet Hollow Character Portraits

Along with Locke I decided to make character portraits for each of the main characters I came up with through a playthrough of Scarlet Hollow. I don’t have all of their pages up yet, but I’ve made a folder on Toyhouse for them. I have a character sheet I’m making for each character with more about them and what happens in each playthrough.

The portraits I have done so far are for Locke (they/them) who has the Mystical and Street Smarts traits, Emmett (he/him) who has the Mystical and Book Smart traits, and Adelaide (she/her) who has the Book Smart and Talk to Animals traits.

First I made a design for the banner for the portraits, and from there can reuse it for each drawing! I took a bit of inspiration from the Scarlet Hollow logo for the red leaves and general color palette. I’m really happy with how cohesive it makes all the pieces look when putting them all side-by-side.

Character Lineup

A while back I had drawn a lineup of four of my characters from a text rp and decided to redu it. In the original it felt pretty plain, I hadn’t added a lot of detail so I wanted to give it a bit more polish. I decided to give it a bit of a curved angle as well and added a bit more detail with the lighting and shading.

Misc Doodles

I was doing some lower effort doodles of characters from a text rp I’m in. One of them just ended up being a silly doodle of two of the npc characters, but the other ended up turning into a two page short comic of a scene with my character Quinn and another player’s character.

I also did some more character explorations! These are pretty messy but still fun to look back on.
