This month involved a lot of last minute prep for Artfight with some Elder Scrolls characters, and drawing my new Pathfinder 2e character!
Imogen at The Elder Scrolls Gala
At the very end of May there was a TES Tumblr community event based around oc’s attending a gala! Unfortunately I heard about it late, but thankfully they were taking late submissions so I was still able to get a drawing done of Imogen for it.
This years theme is based around constellations and birth signs. Imogen’s birth sign in my Oblivion playthrough of her is The Lord. For the outfit I referenced outfits from the irl Met Gala, along with some figures from the Elder Scrolls series like Uriel Septim. I gave her a headdress to resemble a crown and the sun, and a big oversized layered jacket to resemble the fur cloak Uriel Septim wears.

I was surprised how much I liked the background with it since it kinds just felt like throwing it in at the last minute without much thought. And I had a lot of fun thinking of the outfit for her and how to resemble a birthsign like ‘The Lord’, especially for a more feminine presenting character.
Niessus in Witch Hat Atelier
So, I started watching Witch Hat Atelier, and had to do the obligatory ‘shove my most recent character into the world of the most recent media I’ve seen’. I started thinking about how my character Niessus, who’s a mage, would fit into the setting of Witch Hat Atelier.
Because I haven’t read the manga, I don’t know much about the worldbuilding or setting yet, so don’t really have much lore or backstory for how Niessus would fit in yet. But I did like the idea of going ahead and designing an outfit for him based on what the witches wear!
I started by making a basic outfit and pulling color palettes from the outfits of background characters in the market scene in Episode 4 of the show.

From there I pulled some of the colors I liked for Niessus. I really liked the pale green outfit, and thought teals and yellows would also look nice. So from there I started coming up with my own color palette combos for outfits.

After I found the combos I enjoyed most I went on to make a simple illustration with Niessus in his outfit!
I knew I wanted to do something with him flying, to get his personality across well, and to really lean into softer colors for the drawing.

I can nitpick some of the anatomy I’m not as happy with, but overall I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up being super happy with how the colors turned out for the piece, I definitely worked in more softer, pastel colors. I was also really happy with the motion to the pose, I feel like it’s a fun gesture and gets his easygoing and happy personality across well.
Portrait of Braum
I’ve had the idea for a character since February that I just now got around to making a portrait of for Artfight. His name is Braum, he’s a wolf beastfolk / anthro with a set of four ram’s horns. Unfortunately I’m not very confident when it comes to drawing animal / anthro characters, and have struggled to draw him since February until now. But I finally let myself just be okay with having some concept art of him up on Artfight, and to try and get a portrait drawing of him done. And thankfully it went well!

I ended up having a lot of fun with the colors, even if I struggled for a while to get the base sketch done. In particular I really like how the eyes turned out, and I had fun adding spots of blue and purple color to the lineart.
Portrait of Hides-in-Echoes
Another Elder Scrolls playthrough character I’ve had in Skyrim is Hides-in-Echoes, an argonian whose sought out the Dark Brotherhood for training as an assassin. I really like the design she has in the game, though I’m not sure how well I translated that to the drawing I did, especially with the colors.

It was definitely a bit of a struggle, but overall I think I did pretty well with it. I mostly just wanted to get a portrait done so I can add her on Artfight without it only being screenshots from the game.

Drawing of Dancing-Quill
Yet another Elder Scrolls character, also in Skyrim. My backstory for Dancing Quill (who goes by the name Jozha in the Elder Scrolls universe), is that he’s a writer and journalist on the run from Dark Brotherhood assassins after digging too far.

I was happy with how the drawing of him turned out, I really liked the pose and colors, but wish I’d added a bit more detail to it. It’s nice enough though for just wanting a solid reference for Artfight, so I’m happy with it.

New Character: Trinket
I’m in a new Pathfinder 2e campaign and drew my new character! I found out one of the playable races is a dragonet, basically just a tiny dragon, and obviously that sounded like the most wonderfully whimsical option yes please. So now I’m playing a wizard dragonet named Trinket! She’s kind of a little shit know-it-all but I love her.
I started with some sketches to get an idea of what I wanted her to look like. I picture a lot of her mannerisms similar to a cat, stretching out and laying in the sun, that sort of thing.

For her personality, I picture her being pretty stuck up and a know-it-all, and I think I got it across pretty well.

I also ended up drawing a last minute icon for her to put on the game map, since the other drawing wasn’t as clear when shrunk down.
