I set up this website in October 2024 after becoming increasingly frustrated with recent Web 2.0 – having to navigate a growing abundance of advertisements, more belligerent pushes for generative AI from companies, and a deteriorating sense of community on social media. I wanted to push myself to create something positive and worthwhile from those frustrations, and I’m happy to say I really think I have.
Blogging has given me a chance to talk about my artwork in a more personal way not limited by social media. My artwork and projects I’ve been part of can all be collected in one place. And for me, this website itself is an extension of my creativity. I find myself slowly adding to it piece by piece, a never-ending project that can shift and change alongside me and my interests. And it also gives me a chance to highlight work by others that I enjoy- others websites, stories, artwork. Part of making this website is trying to share more of myself. I still find myself struggling with it, but I know I’ve gotten a lot better at it than I was at the start.
