I set up this website in October 2024 after becoming increasingly frustrated with recent Web 2.0 – having to navigate a growing abundance of advertisements, more belligerent pushes for generative AI from companies, and a deteriorating sense of community on social media. I wanted to push myself to create something positive and worthwhile from those frustrations.
This website has allowed for self-expression in a way I’m not used to the internet accommodating nowadays. Blogging has given me a chance to talk about my artwork in a more personal way not limited by social media. All my artwork can be shared in one place. And this website itself is an extension of my creativity. I find myself slowly adding to it piece by piece, a never-ending project that can shift and change alongside me and my interests. And it also gives me a chance to highlight work by others that I enjoy- other’s websites, stories, artwork. Part of making this website is trying to share more of myself. I still find myself struggling with it, but I know I’ve gotten a lot better at it than I was at the start.
